It's easy. I just sent u one of your own as a test.

See the 'Insert Image' icon above the reply box? Third from the right - Dochuli, or Dokhamba (take your pick) with a yellow background. This icon exists in both the PM and 'Post Reply' options. (If u use 'Quick Reply', u'll have to click 'Go Advanced'.)
Click on that, insert image link in the box that opens up, and submit.

Actually using the Insert Image function will include the entire pic in full format. This is a pain for people on slow connections; they'll have to wait forever for the page to load, and moreover they won't know this before they try to open it, after which they'll just have to wait.

To attach a thumbnail, which doesn't cause this problem, kindly use >Go Avanced on the bottom of the reply box; scroll down a little and use >Manage Attachments. You can upload your pics here, just follow instructions. Note that there is a limit to size and resolution; if it doesn't work, you'll probably need to rework your image to meet those requirements.

Alternatively, just leave the URL to wherever else on the web your pic is parked. If the mods notice they'll take away the image tags to leave behind just that: Just the URL.

(So why have the function at all, one might ask? It's necessary for some smilies and other trinkets.)

Question to the Mods :

The 100K file limit , does it apply per file or on sum total of all thumbnails. Was trying to load 2 jpg's , each much less than 100K but together over 100 , did not load , when I tried with only 1 it loaded.Incidentally for the 2 jpg's both files showed as loaded and attached on the upload page , but when "submitted" did not show up in the post. Is there some other trick to load multiple thumbnails on a single post ?

Hm. I'm not so savvy on it, but it should be per image. Check that you have A) adjusted size and B) adjusted resolution. The upload screen will tell you if it went wrong, but it's easy to miss.

A decent photo editor should allow you to downscale it to get it right.

Understand that , both had size as well as resolution adjusted. When I clicked Upload on the upload screen , it went OK. I checked that both images were showing as attachments in the Upload screen after the after upload process was finished. However when I clicked on "submit" to post , the attachments didnot show up.

OK. Little to do about it at this point.

Am passing it on to the powers that be so to speak, maybe they can figure it out.

Patience. Peace. You did check what the maximums on both are, right?

No, I meant both size and resolution. These will both come into play.

The upload box will indicate if this went wrong, but again, it's very easy to miss. I don't use it a lot but when I do I'm often confused with it. It can also happen to pics you didn't think amount to much, it's not really your viewing pleasure that determines it. Simply converting from a .bmp to a .jpg format will downscale overall size a great deal, for instance.

The photo editor I use has a very helpful section in its help file on how to prepare and edit and reformat pics for web usage.

I had also faced similar problem in uploading pictures but I could successfully upload the same pictures after some time without adjusting size or resolution

I'm assuming you're trying to attach thumbnails to post, rather than post images in the Photo section, right? If so, the 100K limit is per attachment.

I tried uploading some of the attachments myself, and I found a bug in the software where it only uploads one of the images even though you specify multiple images in the Browse section. One way to get around this is to upload them one at a time in the File Upload box.

Let me know if you're still having problems.
It's always darkest before it goes completely black.

Hey Macha - when you're uploading to your gallery do you have to do it one by one or can you select several images at once and upload them - then enter the descriptions etc later... it looks as though you can from the instructions, but its not letting me select more than one.
