Right now, everything is working properly again.

Thanks.

The 'likes' sticking at "updating" has been an issue for the past few days, but upon refresh the post shows the thumbs up. I have not had any other performance issues.

But don't get complacent!

It's a dog compared to Team-BHP... But hey, I believe that it hosted in India, so that's a good start. For those of us accessing from India, of course!

The site's not working for you at all?
It's always darkest before it goes completely black.

Yes, i second that. So the speed of a site depends upon:
  • Accessibility ( read bandwidth & links/distance) of the host site.
  • Capacity utilisation of the host site and speed of host computers.
  • Number of concurrent log ons (users).
  • Volume (size) of the site ( or the thread being viewed)
  • Complexity of the site architecture.
  • Distance of the user from the host site? Or the number of nodes to be crossed? Or whether you have an expressway or State highways or country roads to access the site?

Apart from User based issues such as computer, service provider, internet speed, and individual user's idiosyncrasies.

@ Nadreg - FYI - Mac OS + Firefox (Nightly version) has been working fine past few weeks except for the "uodating" 'like' issue for the past week or so.

I believe Team BHP hosts in India, which could be a big reason why it loads faster for folks within India.

One of the things we are looking at here, other than the relaunch that's coming soon, is switching hosting providers to AWS, which would allow us to host in a much closer location as well.

Yes, same here. Safari is lagging on the same machine though.
