Hotels Section: Comments and Suggestions.
Hello all,
I'm upgrading the hotels section on the site, so I have to shut down the existing hotels for the time being. It should take about 1-2 hours to do.
I'll let you know when I'm done. Thanks for your patience.

It's always darkest before it goes completely black.

The upgrade is complete. The relaunch of the hotels section is now live!
If you see any issues with the hotels section, please post on this thread.
Thanks all for your input and help with this. I will continue to enhance this section, and will definitely incorporate some of the tips and inputs given.
Happy traveling.

It's looking pretty spiffy, Nadreg.
I notice the ones added by IndiaMike.com are now dated new year's eve 1969? LOL, maybe look into this.*
But nice job, yes.
* Or some of them, rather. Seems to be pretty random from a quick look, others are neatly listed as April 2008.

I just tried to post an item for Panthanivas at Taptapani in Orissa but wasn't allowed to specify the location. I picked Jeypore (!?) as it is in the general area... The review didn't seem to "go live" either. I notice that some of the previous reviews I posted are no longer included or that the photos are gone. I found the whole posting process a bit over complicated now. Upgrade needs more tweaking I think...

I noticed this recently when during the trial phase I entered a hotel named Blah located at Blah yes. I figured it just takes a bit to get registered, but maybe it needs looking at.And as mentioned before, I guess the option to park a hotel under "other cities" in any given state would be most welcome.
At the time, a new hotel. This was some days ago though, again, during the testing phase. When I then searched for it in another window, I couldn't find it back. I could see it had registered alright though in the window where I'd entered it.
Hi, Just started using new version and love the map!
Can you no longer sort hotels by date added or am I, as is often the case with new sites, being a muppet?

I guess that would be handy, for people who just want to swiftly look at most recent additions.

New hotel. My experience was the same as machadinha's. Contact details lost for this accomodation
The contact details (e-mail address and telephone contacts) have been lost for this accomodation called `Abode-Vacation rental - West Bengal'. Link: http://www.indiamike.com/india-hotel...s28/?sort=name
It was there there in the earlier version and is an important accomodation source in Kolkata (the only non-hotel kind). It also does not feature in Kolkata hotels list in the new version.
I personally prefer the old style Hotels listing for different states for the ease in navigation as well as the checking of reviewed hotels.

Hi there. Here's the new hotel you'd added: http://www.indiamike.com/india-hotel...ptapani-h4066/I've currently turned on moderation for the new hotels, as I work out the kinks in the system. Once everything checks out properly, I will let them go live immediately. I have also added the new city to the hotels section.
What part of the process did you find complicated?
