How did you search for the images? I put in "srirangam" in the search field and the images came up as the top spot. Or, did you search by username? If it was by username, then you are correct, as I have not added user profiles to the new search engine. That will be coming very soon.

Yes, I will be redoing the Member Gallery pages to show the user galleries by alphabetical listing.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned already, but when you click on a photograph on the Front Page of IndiaMike, nothing happens.

Well... I guess there are things on the internet that don't do anything when you click them!

Hm. Checking now, they do lead me on to the photo galleries. Maybe you're blocking something? Strange. What operating system and browser are you on (for Nadreg's benefit)?

I am on Safari browser, for Mac.

Now wouldn't you just guess what happened.... today I click on a photo and it takes me straight to "Images". Therefore the problem is solved.

(I had shut my computer last night fully!)

Nadreg, sorry about the belated answer.

I went to the Advanced search engine. Entered "Srirangam" as a keyword AND "snonymous" in the Username field at the right.
Then I deselected every search option except "Search Indiamike.com Photo Section".
(Did the same for my own pictures. "Hampi" + "Khandoma" = 0. Now I know why... )

Now you tell me ? <jumping off a cliff>
The pictures I was looking for were a couple of years old. So I assumed I'd be inundated by more recent posts & pics abour Srirangam for pages on end before I got to Snonymous's.

I've got a new issue now. Yes, I'm a self-proclaimed pain. Sorry about that.
Click on States / Tamil Nadu. As of today, 2522 images, 1 gallery.

The "1 gallery" mention (text) is not clickable, it seems.
Nor is, in the lower-center part of the page, the mention "Tamil Nadu galleries".
It's okay now because there's only one gallery to choose from. But when you'll have, hopefully, 97 TN galleries, could we click on that text and go to a page where, for instance, the thumbnails of each gallery are shown ?
Or is it going to be like on the homepage and only the latest additions will be featured ?

Another issue I'm finding now, still on that TN Pics page. "1 gallery", it says.
I click on the gallery (very nice pics, Mr. Wilson...) and I want to scream. The gallery is 54 pages long and only a few pictures are from TN.
To find this user's TN photographs from there, I have to 1) scroll through 54 pages and 2) click on every single photo so I can see the location tags.
I sincerely apologize for being such a three-dimensional idiot, but... What are the tags for then, if they're not used to sort the photographs ?

Again, if these issues have been raised before, I apologize. I did try to read this thread from beginning to end, but I got sidetracked by quibbles over thumbnail size. (Guys, size isn't everything... Even my mom knows how to enlarge their page display if they find it too small...). So I may well have lost some info along the way.

Unfortunately, the bug is back.. I clicked on one of Vandy's new pics just downloaded to his Image Gallery from the Front Page of IndiaMike, and I received this error message:

When I click on the first of the four thumbnail images on display on the home page the page kind of refreshes itself once but nothing else happens. I mean the image doesn't open. This happened a few times. Then I clicked on the second image and it opened.
The particular image in question was someone (I think Vandy) in front of Calcutta's Rangers' Club tent.

Yes, exactly the same thing just happened for me too. (You are also on Safari on Mac, right?)

I just clicked on it and it went straight to Images section with the Image I clicked on as the main Pic.

I use Mozilla Firefox.

Don't be sorry: you are just the sort of user that developers need.

Still, you are probably testing with sensible input. Try typing rubbish into all the fields and see what happens. Err... I hope Indiamike is safe from code injection!

Geek humour, you can't beat it Almost as good as 'There's No Place Like 128.0.0.1' or the '10 types of people, those that understand binary and those that don't'.

(But in reality code injection isn't funny and a pain in the neck.)

Probably more "sensible imput" to come, as I can't seem to locate that !$*%@&?!! Image-specific search engine. I did manage to access it yesterday from somewhere in the Image section, though. It was a fine page, allowing a multi-criteria image search, accessible from a Search button, I swear, and I'm only drinking tea... So it must be there, somewhere, lurking in the shadows... If you see it, folks, don't try to interfere as it's armed and dangerous, but please report its position to your local authorities.
