Why is the journal section closing?

Just wondering why the journal section is being withdrawn?
I'd never have known that there was somewhere in India that makes cider without Dr Funkenstein!

The journal section is pretty much a dead section and no one really uses it and I spend more time deleting junk/spam entries than anything else.

Also some of the software code on the site is changing very soon and the journal section will no longer function and it's not worth the time for me to add a new journal section.

If I can archive the contents I will try but no promises. I would suggest if you enjoy some journal entries to make a copy of it. It's the best I can say until I see how the new code functions.

So an archive of the entries is possible, however a new journal area or an active journal area is doubtful.

What a shame

the journal section's closing!!! (make urgent note to myself - must copy Dr Funk's journal.)

I was reading it yesterday and felt a real idiot cackling away to myself about Dr Funk's bowel movements. Going home yesterday I had vivid pictures in my mind of what he had described. The look of astonishment on peoples' faces in the traffic; with me giggling away, alone in the car, must have been cause for concern for the other road users. Ever wanted to jump a red traffic light..........it was like being caught with your fingers in the cookie jar. A brilliant journal...........and it will be shared with many of my friends who'll enjoy it as much as I - (I hope )

Thanks freemanx, I'd already copied the "unabridged" version (hilarious) but I think a few of my friends MAY be a little shocked at that one. The more "polite" one I've printed already and this should bring quite a few laughs over the weekend!

Maybe we could have a blog thread where people could link to Blog sites and discuss them. Then, Indiamike wouldn't have to carry the journal, but if people posted links to blogs/other journal sites, they could be found easily (without getting lost underneath the other discussions)?

Just a thought.

It sort of exists already - Show us your website - but maybe you were thinking of a permanent link/sticky on the front page. There are so many goodies now, it is already hard to keep track - I only saw now that the shoutbox has come up again.
