Hey Kristin -- What made you think I'd see this to answer?
Well, I did ![]() Whew, this is an old('ish) thread eh, can't say I've gone over my above ramblings again now. I don't know, I haven't used the photo upload system for a long time. I think it goes one pic at a time yes. Would be handy if it would handle more -- then again the limit is 10 a day anyway I believe, to allow others some fun too. (ps Just for completeness, this is about uploading pics in the Photo Galleries of course. The original question above was more about how to include picture attachments in a post. I think [?] )

Hmm... that's a nice way of saying multi-dysfunctional
![]() Anyway I see you've been uploading by now You have a good eye for details, there are some really nice pics there. I think you could get them up in a much higher resolution really, but again I've not used it for quite some time.Did you manage to salvage the pics from that erased disk of yours then? Splendid. |

They're actually taken by my husband - he's the photographer! There are some lovely shots but I haven't got around to all of them yet. I tried in a higher resolution and nothing seemed to happen so went back to the small ones.

Hm yes. This is getting too 1:1 and off-topic I suppose, but I can never figure out why some pics get posted in a very different format than some others, by people who seem to know what they're doing too.
Anyway never mind, and I'm not so into it. It has one wondering though. Could it be there's something about uploading directly from a digital camera? |

Depends on the software you are using and so on - if you have to compress the image there are a million ways to do it and they all have different results. I just automated these ones rather than do it through photoshop like I would with the work images. They are a bit small, but never mind, I'll try and do the next ones larger.

Last time I saw a pop-up browser window with the option of selecting upto 4 pics. This time I go to Photos > Upload, I only see a page with a single input box for browsing my local folder. I can't locate how to do that anymore.
Any tips? Cheers |

There's one pic of yours here alright, that you must have just posted: http://www.indiamike.com/photopost/s...1/limit/recent.
You should see it when you refer to the site's homepage as well. (Oh I see you have three in your gallery even, so you have managed to post two before, a few days ago.) |

Rahasya, welcome to IndiaMike! Just a note to say I've deleted your thread on the same issue as we don't allow multiple posts here. This is the right place for your question and asking it just once will work.

Hmm... hard to say just like that. What I know is the upload screen may give you the impression it all worked fine, when in fact it didn't. There should be a message to that effect somewhere I think but it's very easy to overlook.
Chances are you just need to rework your image's size and/or resolution, then try again (you should see it appear if it's successful, so that should leave you with little doubt). I think it was discussed before on this same thread, so just scroll back. Other than that, there would have to be some glitch with the photo galleries. People seem to be happily posting their pics though, so I doubt if it's that. |

No, I'm not so savvy on it, but pics will tend out to come out in different sizes and resolutions yes, even if they were shot on the same camera and "look" the same to the eye, whether in print or on screen. I guess for a digital camera it matters what density it decided to apply to that picture, and for a scan of an analog pic something similar applies. The difference between each shot can be quite significant.
So I think you'll have to play around with this yes. It could take some studying of your photo editor, but I think when I'd toyed around with mine for a bit you soon get a feeling for it & so can easily crop it down to size until it's just good, after that you'll just know what format you're looking for & so the rest can be done fairly swiftly per pic. Haven't done much graphic stuff for quite a while though, and all editing programs will work slightly differently I guess. Keep a note too of what formats to save your pics in, I believe I mentioned before on this thread the overall size difference between a .bmp or a .jpg file for instance is quite significant. |
