I'm really thinking out of the box with the next change. I'm thinking pink and green being the dominant colors, with a big splash of mauve.

It's going to be loverly.

Absolutely agree.

Whenever I have pursued perfection, I haven't achieved it.

Or change for the sake of change?

This is a website used and enjoyed by thousands of people every day. You can't just tweak it on a personal whim every time you feel like it. Or, rather, you can, as you have shown, but it shows a lack of discipline and regard for the users who have made the site such a success.

I prefer the older version too.

But I would disagree that the site can't be tweaked. Look around. It is because of the tweaking that so many good things have happened recently out here, which many of the same users have applauded.

And the fact that the older version was reinstated pretty quick says something about "regard for the users", don't it?

I didn't say that the site can't be tweaked, so you're disagreeing with your own fabricated supposition there, capt. But once a website - any website - becomes popular it should not be tweaked on the whim of its creator.

And the old version was reinstated accompanied by a somewhat bad-tempered "FINE!!! Jeeezzz!!!"... which rather gives the impression of thinking the users to be a load of moaners.

I am not sure what you are thinking here Mickey !! I do not understand the reason on why it should not be tweaked !!

And what do you mean why the 'whim of its creator', who else do you expect to maintain the site ?? A team of creative designers and sophisticated engineers ? NO !! Its only that single person who handles it all and this site is his property..he paid for it bro !!

For an overview of the site's development over the years, try http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://indiamike.com . Of course and like any site, it always has been and always will be in development.

Actually I didn't mind the scrollbar - I liked the fact that there were more recent threads displayed than with the old (now current) format.

But I did miss the other info that everyone else missed as well. Thanks for putting that back.

It would have been kind of difficult for nadreg to explain the idea in words and get everyone's opinion before he did it. And it IS his site. And once there was dissent in the ranks it got undone.
Can't see much to complain about there myself.
