Some suggestions

I find, IM is the most sought after forum for when it comes to various travel related information & experiences, culture, etc etc etc abt India.

Wouldn't it be a good idea, to have ust One Sticky Thread, wherein forums for other countries (just like IM for India) have been cited.

Its really difficult to trace such a good & informative site like IM, when you are looking for information or planning to travel to other countries.

Ppl from around the world are active members at IM. I am sure they can suggest / recommend a forum or forums (like IM) of their own country on a dedicated thread like I said above.

In couple of months, I think it would be a sought after thread for a globe-trekker or backpacker.

What say ?

Thats a very good Idea...and why limit it to other countries...you can share any good forum that you encounter..like food, music. movies etc...as long as it does not challenge IM...admin should not have any problem with that...

Well, no... please don't do that! Admin do have a problem with it!

It seems like a good idea, but the mods have to check all the links that they don't break our rules: first, they must not be commercial; second, they must not be directly competing. Apart from that, we encourage members who are going to participate, and we discourage those who make a few post just to get their site link found by the search engines. This is a well-known site, so links here get quite a good score with search engines.

All kinds of stuff comes up on the site, and that sometimes includes links to other sites or articles for source or reference material or illustration or interesting stuff and we have threads for a reference to personal sites (Show us your website; do you blog?).

We're not trying to stop that: but nor are going to encourage a whole heap of it.

Shashank, hope you see what I mean here.

Ashish... we try to keep the focus here on India. But I don't see why a listing of informative sites about neighbouring or commonly-next destinations should not figure as a sticky in the Crossing the Borders forum.

No problems. Sometimes we have to give a glimpse over the admin wall to explain stuff.

Nick u do have a valid point, but i feel you can always give it a shot. There is saying, "it better to attempt & fail, rather than fail to attempt"

I think by dedicating merely a thread, the focus from India won't get drifted. As such my aim is that we are able to trace quality forums like IM for other countries.
