I was thinking about this the other day and one of the things I forgot to add Patheya is don't be put off or intimidated by the experience/comments/ knowledge you find in forums (i.e "the oldies"). I've only been on IM since April this year (so yes, I'm a newbie as well) - but I've had an internet connection in one form or another since 1993. Back then - you could only connect via a university, and everything was in text (no browsers, etc). I'm been in and out of a number of forums over the years - and every one of them has had their groups, their knowledgeable inner circle, close knit friends, etc. Not surprising really. With IM, their are people who have been here for years and I guess you could say this site is sort of like the local cafe/ pub where a lot of catching up/ daily chat goes on Now I'm in no position to speak on anyone's behalf - let alone mine - but again - I think the folks at IM are a friendly bunch, so don't let that prevent you from asking questions. If it looks like its getting ignored while the thread goes slighty off on a tangent (because some of us started a discussion on tech jargon - wonder who that could be![]() ) - don't worry. Its just friends catching up - you're still welcome - and someone will respond to you. As Janice said - her post was just a gentle reminder. |

And I thought we were getting back to the thread...
Thoroughly agree with bb, also often whilst there is a thread on your subject it doesn't entirely deal with a specific angle of it and the original post title can be misleading for answers to your particular question. You fail to find answers within that post - then post a new thread with your specific question in the title. |

Not that I actually care about 20/20, but a few observations:
NZ have never made the final of a World championship in cricket (ok, so they won the Champions trophy in 2000, against India. But that doesn't count), and I feel they will stay true to their true expertise gained over three decades - a semi-final position. Both Pakistan and India seem to be finding that the shorter of the short version is better for their endurance, as are others like Zim and B'desh (proves my point - it's not cricket, if these teams did well). Pakistan have a point to prove after their dismal performance in the real WC, espesh to folks back home. So it's not looking good for NZ. Same with India, point to prove, Aus has proved that they can lose to anyone in this format, so at the end of the day it cud well be an India-Pak final. Not, as I've said before, that I care. Did I mention that this is off-topic? |

So what are the chances of an India-NZ final then?
I wudn't mind that, just so that it gives us a chance to go OT again ![]() Without tech-talk. But seriously, I really don't care about 20/20 (I swear! Cross my heart and all that. Promise!) |

to be honest I would love to see an India - Parkistan final as there are lots of new/ young players that bring a lot of colour/ emotion to the game (and India/ Pakistan games always have alot of colour/ emotion to begin with anyway).
NZ/ Oz - to many old timers, too calm and controlled (boring). No no....the only nz/oz contest worth seeing involves a completely different shaped ball, involves a lot more contact (bruising, blood, etc), and only lasts 80 minutes.... Dilli - maybe we should start a 20/20 thread? not that we care of course.... |
