bingo!

and don't worry about the OT stuff--the first post stands on its own as a reminder.

Oye, c'mon yaar, now u're getting serious. That (seriousness) we shud leave for the tech discussions.

2. We did? I dunno, I've been catching up with my reading here. As I've said in another thread, it's not cricket.

Been away for a couple of days, but all I can say, on catching up with this thread is what a bunch of wimps!

That's WIMPS as in Windows, Icons, Menus and Pointers!

Developed by Xerox, made to work by Apple, and made not to work, but very popularly, by Microsoft.

Even if you are not interested in techie history, it is interesting to note the dates: early 1980s. Twenty years after that Microsoft gave us the first decently stable version of their "Windows" (Windows 2000). But they still took our money for the unstable ones.

Clever that... I expect they'd have made much less if it worked from the first version! Hmmmm... You don't think? Nahhh... of course not.

But then history already had the famous main-frame upgrades to the very expensive next model --- they took out the piece of software that slowed it down to the cheaper spec.

Now. Who was it who said it couldn't get more offtopic?

LOL!

From that WIMPS article: what's OOP, by the way? And is it 1 OOP, 2 OOPs? As in Oops, I've dropped my OOPs? Or like 1 sheep, 2 sheep?

(Maybe it's getting time to shut down this thread, heheheh. The SF (Silliness Factor) has certainly gotten to me.
Certainly time for me to shut down the PC and get to bed. I mean: Personal Computer.
Awright, bb, don't remind me! I know that was enuff to be classified as a tech discussion, LOL!)

I'm fairly sure that's Object Oriented Programing.

No, I'm not sure at all, actually, in this context!

ooo never thought of "lay off lumberhead" (as opposed to laugh out loud)...I quite like that!

and yes - NZ and Oz are in the semi finals. India dumped SA from the competition last night with a sublime performance. So its Oceania versus Asia for the semis (NZ v Pakistan - India versus Oz).
