Hi Mike,
Sometimes when I want to post something and click the "submit new thread/answer" I get a page saying that I'm not logged in (when in fact I'm logged in). I have then to reenter the handle and password and when I go back using the back button on my browser. I'm happy to say that the content of my post is still there and that I can send it then. I currently don't use the setting for automatic login since I access the web from a lot of different computers.

Does this happen all the time or just on occasion?

One symptom that may be behind is that if your writing a really long post and take your time with it, the temporary cookie may time out. The present setting for the temp cookie is 900 seconds to write a post, so if you take longer than that to write your message the forum may ask you to log back in. The time is set as a safety measure. I can increase the time if you feel this will continue to cause problems.

Let me know if you continue to have problems, but I would guess that this may be the cause of it.

you do'nt know how close i've come to doing that to this box of tricks, the cost of replacing it would stop me going to india.

I also surmised that it was a timeout problem because indeed in the cases when in happened I started a post and then started to do something else and then went back to the post, so a long time passed between the starting and the finishing. It's not a big problem since the contents of the post are safe after the repeated login.
