It was a joke, but yes, I am close anyway.

Twenty posts to post freely among the forums (Except "Off Topic") but it is ten to PM somebody.
Ikuru's word association and other fast moving threads like how long to you go & The person who replies is... Have to wait.
I better ask for Itinery advice....But what can I ask?
I have been a lurker for far too long and
I arrive in Bangalore next monday
so at least there is an upside.
and I suppose when I am in India, I can post First hand experiences; and when i return I can post more.

No: you can post freely right from zero posts.

The "Off-topic" forums, Chai and Chat and Masala Chai (hey, its nothing more naughty than politics) you won't even see until you have the rights to post there. Masala Chai is only 50 posts, Chai-and-chat much less.

Please note that nobody can start new threads in the India-for-beginners section. This is so it keeps its focus. Everybody can post in the threads already there.

I concur. As it has been previously stated within this Thread, that restrictions should be placed upon newcomers (as myself) in what and where we can post.
On deleting Threads; I also agree, possibly to the extent that if you start a thread then rather than editing, an addendum to post 1 could be made which could take maybe the form of a text box (Or signature)within that post. However that would take code, probably lots and I am not sure that would be feasible.

I am a late comer to the ranks of IM, and as I have pointed out, for many months I have been a Lurker watching from an anonymous distance. A dream of going to India, which is now about to arrive, allows me to register on IM with a purpose, rather than just reading all the enthralling accounts and taking advice on how to hang a mosquito net.
I have been following threads and articles from my distance perusing the different states and cities, and I have planned a holiday of sorts from recommendations and advice all gathered from the forum of IM. What I was pointing out is that IndiaMike completely answered all my queries before I have enrolled into membership and that there is (hopefully) no question for me to ask. Ergo no accumulating post count.

Congratulations, the most people online at once has been surpassed today I see. Long shall it continue to rise.

Well here is another in my thread count.

Please accept this caveat:
On Sunday when I start panicking about my holiday will you answer all of my questions if I have any?

Yes we will. We are also famous for answering questions that haven't been asked

Yes, well the luxury of time has allowed me to read a great deal on IM. I am also sure that Murphy's Law is not an urban legend and I am beginning to feel haunted.
Passport check
visa check
etc

I'll probably call centrica to disconnect the main from the airport just in case HaHa

No three Southern States for me.

We apperently have to have beach time according to my better half between sightseeing. So Karnataka; Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
