Hello all,

The Articles section is back (almost)...! The articles we had in the old Community section have been moved here, and I'm going through the site and adding more articles as I see them.

The Articles section will be different from the Forums section, in that an article is meant to be more of a "static" piece, where the author is communicating something to the group. Comments on articles would be limited

Forums, on the other hand, are meant to be more dynamic, where a thread is a conversation within the community.

To that end, I'm going to be going through some of the forum threads we have that really should be articles, and convert them. See Beach's "The India Confusion" in the articles section as an example.

So, have a look around and let me know what you guys think.

I think it is looking very nice (finally made it to look!).

One suggestion so far is that that the comments should be on a different page to the main article, so that the article does not just become a "thread".

That is, you would have to click on a link to see the comments, or add a comment.

I'll see what I can do Nick. It's not my code, so I'm limited in what I can do with it.

By the way... the Articles link is now in the Navbar. I haven't opened it up all the way yet. People won't be able to add articles, and I'm still moving some of the older articles I found into the system and will eventually move the journals into these as well.

There are some articles I found that had been "lost" for a long time. Some pretty cool ones by old IMers like volga volga and lonelyaztec.

'Home' Page looks good - excellent idea. Nick's one for comments would be useful - something like you do for Photo Gallery perhaps?

Yes I agree. The new articles page looks very attractive. IM is probably the best resource on the Net for travellers going to India. The development of a well laid out articles section with quality pieces is a definite plus.

Well done Nadreg! The articles page does look nice. Beach's 'The India Confusion' post along with the photos looks and reads great.

Beach deserves a medal for that one...! What a brilliant article. I also am bringing back some of the "lost" articles from a while ago. Some really good destination guides by lonelyaztec.

Glad you guys like the articles. I'm going to through a section on the homepage soon.

At the moment the articles are recommended by the moderators and sometimes members; Nadreg decides and posts them there.

So, write an excellent thread on travel for a start
