lovely-jubbly Some Promotions We welcome two new forum leaders and one new Administrator on the site. Steven_Ber has joined as a co-administrator. In between pints he will assist in the day to day operations of the site and can also take the blame if the site goes down. Member Rab will be joining as a Forum Leader to keep Steven from promoting English jokes that no one gets and to spread the cult of Indiamike to down under when he makes the move. Alan D will also be added as a Forum Leader to keep us all in line and to help keep the site moving forward. Congratulations! All three promotions are intended to help the site maintain quality and to assist other members who need help. Mike

Congrats (but it's the invasion of the English!). More seriously, a site like this is surely hard work and it's great Alan D and Rab are pitching in and good on ya, Steve. And ta to the other current forum leaders for their hard work too.

If it's supposed to be my job to keep people in line then it's going to be a very light workload! Keeping myself in line will be harder work! This website seems to be composed of intelligent and polite people who never resort to personal abuse and childish temper tantrums. The site has a good feel about it and I'm sure it will stay that way. I'm more interested in taking the site forward on the basis of a worldwide group of friends with one thing in common - a love of our host country, India. Cyberhippie - the pension plan appeals to me - only two years to go! Samsara - Although I have nothing against the English, or anyone else, as Scots-Irish I can assure you I will be completely impartial in any slagging match between the Aussies and the English. My guess is this could happen in about a weeks time Not really.

Can I apologise in advance if you don't "see" that much of me next month due to moving house internationally as I am sure you know?!! It will good to work on indiamike.com from my new home in Aus ... especially as our team can span the time zones, watching for nasty spam while Mike is sleeping! I echo what Alan D said. This is a great website with really decent members; it is sensible and mutually helpful without being in any way boring. I joined the site in September 2001 when the world was in the chaos of war in Afghanistan and my first ever post was a rather cautious one about whether it was safe to travel to India or not. I did travel then and loved it (of course) but derived great help and support from contributors. I kept looking in at Indiamike and only again became active here when the urges to go back to India returned. I hope the site continues to help and inspire new and returning India travellers and to generate and cement lifelong friendships. rab
