How to turn off email notification?

This has probably been discussed before.. but a quick search did not identify any thread specific to this issue I have..

How do I turn off the email notifcation option? I get an email everytime there is a new entry to the thread I subscribe to.. I would rather read the message from IM directly and not on my email.

I went to control panel>Edit Options> and set "no email notification" to the 'Default thread subsription mode'. But I still get email notifications!

The system is not perfect, I think. I still get some too. On what basis, I dunno.

You do know that when you subscribe, you have the option of selecting no email notification, right? I think that is the default setting-I just quickly checked.

I do. And I always check 'no email notification' when I subscribe. Hmm.. weird.

Ditto here too...!
I keep turning the e-mail notification options to the 'off' mode as I realized that its a default setting...
And over the years, I must have visited a hundred odd threads and posted on them...
The result... The mail i.d. that I have here just can't be used for anything else... Not a problem though; as I just refer to it as my IM mail i.d....!!!
Cheers...!

I did that once- perhaps it is still set for that.

I still get notification of some threads.

I have changed my option from "no email notification" to "do not subscribe". fingers crossed. (It should still work with just 'no email notification' *grumble*)

You'll still need to go to your already-subscribed-thread listing, select them all, and then select not to receive mail.

When you click on Forums and again on My Subscribed Threads at the top right, you will see a list of threads with Last Post details and a 'notification' column. If that column shows none for all threads, you get no emails. The 'some threads' for which you get email notification perhaps shows the notification as something else. I was able to change those by going back to my post, individually editing my last post in each to say 'no email notification'
