I would like to point out that the delete button does not show up for me. This goes for a non-starter post that is the last post in the thread (no posts made after it). Neither in normal edit mode or in "advanced" mode.

Please note that this is *not* a browser issue because 1) I tried it in multiple browsers and 2) there is no HTML/JS code for a "delete" button.

I think there is now a 3 day(72 hour) period starting from time-of-post that allows for such deletions. After that the post, as they say, is set in stone!

At this time, users are not permitted to delete posts.

Posts remain editable, which means the content could be deleted, for two days.

We will not unreasonably refuse a request to remove a post, but may decide not to do so if it has become part of an ongoing conversation.

Within the two days, just leave the words 'please delete' in the post. the next mod to notice it will tidy it up.

Otherwise PM a mod.

I believe that if a moderator has edited or moved a post then the original poster cannot edit his posting.

Or so I've found.

My computer is a Mac.....naturally.

Moderator Suggestion

Try it now.

I don't think it is the case, as long as you are still within the time limit.

If so... It's a feature I didn't know about!

As you can see, I've edited your post.

I don't think it is the case: please try, and we'll see.
