may looks like a stupid question. I'm not able to attach photos to a new post ( photos from my IM album).

I've used the [IMG] [/IMG] , with ethe link to the photos in my album. But nothing appeared.....any clues...?

Also How to delete a post ?

Seems to be working from my end , I click the landscape icon, paste the link (right click on image to get the URL) , and it get´s pasted with the IMG tags here.

Actually using the image [IMG] tags is something we discourage if it's not immediately functional, and the mods will take them away to leave just the relevant URL if they notice.

It's a pain on users with low bandwidth, plain and simple.

This has been brought back to a given reasonable time frame, something like two days I think, which is to stop people from defacing the site and messing up entire threads and their replies by deleting their whole history. You can ask to have your stuff deleted and if there are no such obvious malicious intentions, it will be acted upon, or it will get discussed with you in case of doubt.

At the top of this page: http://www.indiamike.com/india-community/ . Where to park it exactly has been under revision for some time I think, so it may yet be moved again. Some regulars seem to miss it; on the other hand, I'm not aware it was ever used much anyway.

Very true, and I've done my share of that discouraging, but this is a special case, and a problem that I've met up with myself --- what if the pics are not an external site, but on IndiaMike itself? Any ideas? It seeems a shame to upload the again as post attachments!

I suspect that one can use the attachments manager to give the URL, but I think one has to get exactly the right URL (I think I might have done it once!).

You can just post the links to your IM or external pics. They're just URL's, it doesn't matter.

Conversely, if you really feel you should add a thumbnail (or upload a pic even, but again this isn't encouraged), you could do so with any of your IM pics too by going through the attachments menu. They'd likely be on your comp. anyway, and if not, I'm quite sure even the Photo Galleries location would suffice for this.

It's really quite simple, which is not to say it doesn't take a bit of studying with whatever photo editor you may use, and then with the IndiaMike upload system again. And in case of trouble, do post here. But check for yourself first by all means, and again, please lay it easy on the pics for the sake of other users with not so spiffy connections.

Designing my first decent poster in a photo editor took me about a week or two, whereas I'd have done it by hand and with a bottle of glue in an hour or so. So much for progress, eh I tend to feel the hand-done ones look better anyway.
