Turning off domain guessing (which auto adds www. and .com to an unknown address) doesn't help either, I guess I'll just have to wait for IndiaMike to go wrong. ![]() Quote:

| I think that's what Nick meant yes: Since it now comes up as a pop-up, you can just click it away without messing up the screen you were working on. (Windows user here, it doesn't afflict me. And that auto-fill in wherever I didn't mean to go I have firmly off, of course. What's it called again, oh yes, autocomplete I think. I'm sure besides being useless it allows Windows et al. another handle to analyze surfer's behavior, btw; anyway I don't really need them to think along about what I might be thinking of.)

| ? I thought you'd mentioned Maybe I should have said IE user, hence the confusion? Sorry for that. (Besides, Nick, tu, on Windows? Tsk, tsk ) --> What is this world coming to, indeed.Anyway I may lose posts because of a number of reasons (rarely happens to me these days, luckily. The keyboard I'm now on seems more prone to me inadvertently touching some "I want to zap out of here" button that I'm not sure which it is though; never run into that on the other keyboard I regularly use. It is in any case fatal; funny thing is I must have managed to type many a manuscript on it -- always diligently using the save function of course, but it never struck me as a problem anyway), but never because of what you described. |
