Forum Tip-When your on a slow connection

Here are some quick tips for those using internet cafes and are struggling with slow connections while viewing the forum part of the site.

In your User Control Panel (the UserCP link at the top of this page) you can change your settings for a sort of 'lite' version of the forum area.

While in that screen go to the Edit Options section.

Look for the area entitled-'Visible Post Elements'

Below that are some checkboxes. Leave them unchecked so these items will not be displayed speeding up the forum for you.

(leave the following unchecked)
Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

Also farther below that screen is 'Miscellaneous Options'

Switch to the 'Basic Editor' which has fewer graphics and takes less time to load.

All of these methods should speed up the site for those on slower connections.
