Anyone know how to bulk delete photos from the gallery?

In classic IndiaMike fashion, I am replying to your question, even though I haven't a clue what the answer is.
But please tell all – why do you want to bulk delete photos? |

I have been unable to upload photos for months. Someone please help. The steps up to "select" and upload work, then the photos disappear somewhere.

Select Edit.
Delete is choice at the bottom of the edit details screen. jaibharatma... that is very strange, people are certainly uploading daily, so it is not a system failure. If you can run an (attempted) upload, noting carefully the time, file name, file size and type, then perhaps The Boss could check the logs and see what happened... |

I wanted to clear out some of the old ones without having to take them down one at a time. But some helpful pixie in the mainframe decided to delete them all. Oh well.

Oh!
And I was going to tell you that bulk deletion wasn't possible. Even as a moderator I looked for ways to do that and didn't find one. Loosing all your pics on the site is a bit of a disaster . |

Relieved to hear that you only wanted to delete some of your photos from IndiaMike, not to delete yourself.
Most sorry to hear you've lost the lot. |

uploading photos
Quote:
I will be trying these steps. I thought my photos disappeared because they were just so so! ( which they are), or they went into some other place on the website. I didn't want to be a bother as I am not tech savvy. I will be in the lap of Bharat Mata in October, and will see if any exciting photos will be worth posting. Just preparing now. |

It's quite easy for you to have the impression your pics should have uploaded, but it in fact not being so, simply because they exceed accepted format and size limits. There'll be a (automated!) message to that effect, but it's very easy to overlook.
Let's see, I've probably commented on it here: Uploading photo attachments on IndiaMike? for instance and probably elsewhere before, and/but I'm really not very savvy on it myself. But so anyway following your photo editor's instructions on preparing pics for web usage (and so mostly just simply re- and notably downsizing them, to whatever format will be accepted) and then just simply trying again may get you a long way. Once you get the hang of it and know what formats are accepted, it should be a piece of cake to resize a whole batch of them in the same way. As for why Abracax's pics may all have gone missing, I can't immediately see any good reason for that, nor what may have happened. A., do you mean you were goofing around with the interface and then all your pics were gone, or did it actually seem like someone had removed them all for you (as Nick noted, I don't think this would be an easy feat even for a moderator), or what exactly do you mean?

Nick-H and Machadinha thanks so much. Downsizing was the key!!! The larger image didn't upload.

Some of my pictures seem to have wandered back in from the chronosymplastic infundibulum. I suppose there's a lesson to be learned here, but I'm not sure what.

For those who still care, I have the answer: post a question like I did to start this thread and all of your pictures will be disappeared. Then 36 randomly-chosen items will reappear. No-one will tell you why. FYI.
