I applied for short stay schengen visa from VFS France in New Delhi and it took so long to see a status on VFS website and i did complain to embassy and VFS. I had no hope for my visa on time but on the day of my flight i received my passport and i was relieved but i looked for the visa and saw something like this on my 17 Page of visa :

Pls have a look i need help

I cancelled all my flights and i was having a big pain in my heart to not get to see my family with a new member.

What does this mean am i refused? if yes no reason.

why!!!?

I"ll try Min Of External Affairs and Embassy tommorow.

That doesn't look like a refusal. You have no other documentation, just your passport in an envelope?

It looks like a six-month visa.

This is not a schengen visa. This is how a Schengen visa looks like

The stamp says that you applied for a visa. "07/01/2011" is the date (7th January 2011). The letter "C" probably means that you requested a visa of category "C", i.e. a Schengen visa.

In the following, you can find what people can gather from the website of the German embassy in Colombo. Hope it helps!

"What is the most common reason for refusal?

Often Schengen applications are rejected because the purpose of the visit lacks plausibility and there is insufficient proof of the applicant's readiness to return.

Most visas are refused because the applicant was not in the position to demonstrate sufficiently strong family, social, financial and/or economic ties to their place of residence and that their travel will be consistent with their visa category. "Ties" are aspects of an applicant's life that bind him or her to his or her country of residence: possessions, employment, social and family relationships are good examples of these. A combination of family, social and economic ties is usually required in order to convince the visa officer that an applicant would leave the Schengen territory after his or her short visit. Therefore, depending on the specifics of your case, documents which reveal that you are well established in your own country may help to demonstrate your intent to return to Sri Lanka.

A sponsor in Germany can only guarantee for the costs of living but not for the applicant's return to his home country."

Looks nothing like any kind of Visa that is issued here in Aust.

To me it looks like a Receipt Stamp as to when the passport was Recieved, nothing else.

The following link leads to a photo of a passport page indicating that the passport holder applied for a visa of category "C" twice. (Both visas weren't granted.)

I want to apply again!

Hello guys its too much now and now i really want to apply again what are the chances of getting visa if i apply spain, belgium or Italy?

I have some strong contacts from these countries.

Currently i'm single and if i am invited by a girl will it decrease my chances?

For financial support i showed my dad's account and pay slips of last 6 months and a Form 16. (I am 21 years old).

I did not made any mistake in the application just the pupose was to attend family function in my college holidays.

I even showed them my College Cetficate from Delhi Univeristy.

Pls if someone have any experiences like this they can help me and oher's too.

Thanks

Dear Grubby,

It really sucks that western countries discriminate against young Indian males...

It happened to my Indian boyfriend too. We thought we had a very strong and well prepared application for his tourist visa.

He included my invitation letter that he will stay with my family in Australia, my payslips, his payslips, letter from his employer showing grant of two months leave, bank account details, his car documents, statements from Justice of Peace (equivalent to Public Notary),and more.

I already prebooked the tickets for him, made the Australian travel arrangements and we were both so excited and looking forward to seeing each other again.

When he got his passport back from the Delhi Australian High Commission, there was no stamp in it! No reason why he didn't get the visa. Just a standard letter listing all the points that may apply in getting a refusal. We couldn't see anything that specifically applied to our case, other than the "family ties", as of course he was single.

It was utterly heart breaking for both of us. After that we asked around and found it happens to so many young men!

Sorry to say this, but don't waste your time and money on reapplying. Having a girlfriend sponsor you on a tourist visa will be even worse!

I wish you all the best.

I had marriage plans

We planned to marry each other in France because i want to continue to life in Europe we did ready all the documents for marriage in her country but after my rejection it was wasted. Now if she come here and we marry here and we legalize in embassy it will be a long process and many will point out!

Grubby, we did that. We married in India, immediately applied for a partner visa, and it took just half a year for my husband to join me here in Australia.

Of course, each country varies. A partner visa is still the easiest type of visa for an Indian to get. Good luck!
