I can understand the system being down causing problems when lodging your application...........

But if its anything like the UK, each passport arrives back from the embassy in its own sealed envelope with your name on it, so the only system needed is someone to flick through them and find yours.

This all sounds more like the BLS we have been promised and are dreading

yah.....luckily I got it today easily but there were other people with problems it looked like. I can't say 100 percent it was BLS's fault, but it looked like it. I saw about 3 people say they got a confirmation that their passport was there, but BLS claimed there system didn't show it being processed. The supervisor was scrambling in the back room looking for a few of them to see if they were there.

Yah i just think they wouldn't give it back to me because they want to scan the barcode on back before I sign for it. And if the system is down or whatever they can't have it registered it was picked up i guess.

Also if your curious...the system is long line out on the sidewalk, 5 people in at a time sporadically. Everyone walking by always asks what the line is for, I usually say concert tickets.

Given it's proximity, Knick's tickets would have tripled the line in a newyork minute

It is going to be lot like bread line, kerosine oil line, movie tickets line in the old days in India.

So has anyone in the US yet been granted a 10-year visa through BLS???

How about reporting these guys to the Better Business Bureau?

Our niece just got a 10-year visa. Me, I chickened out and just applied for a 6-month one--sent the application off today. I love the Catch-22 where you have to put the tracking numbers for the shipment each way to generate the BLS order form which has to be on and in the application envelope, which means that you have to buy the postage and then go back to your computer to print out the last piece that you're going to post. Luckily I bought trackable, or as BLS says tractable, mail labels on line from the USPS.

Great. Is this her first? If not, is it back-to-back (more or less) with a previous one?
