They do.

Only thing is, standard passport photos are square in the U.S.

The UK office are using the same forms as developed for the Indian Embassy in the US.

I never knew that... I thought passport layout was pretty-much international these days.

You'll be telling me that they drive on the wrong side of the road, next!

I use(ed)
( http://travel.state.gov/passport/guide/guide_2081.html ) one size for India Tourist Visa, OCI, Brazil Visa, Paraguay Visa and all business visa applications without any problems. Of!course all those consulates were in Manhattan Except Nepal Visa on arrival which was also the same size. YMMV

You lot havent seen the irish passport application photo requirements. The distance between the top of your head and your eyes is specified in a mock up. If it does not fit then your application is returned. Someone somewhere is having a larf.

What do you mean exactly by acknowlegdment? Is yours showing this as the status online?

You are lucky, we applied on 23 March and still not showing anything on the status page.

I think the key here is the "Photo Scanned Status". I applied for my OCI on the 19th of March, and still haven't received mine. My photo scanned date was 13th of May, and judging from what I have read here and other forums, you can expect your OCI in a month's time after your photo scanned date.

Well not before they have been received in London!

I've never done an OCI application, it makes sense that the status would change to "ready for collection" or some similar phrase? Documents have been despatched today, keep your eye open for further updates.

Perhaps someone knows what exactly it will say when it's updated?

This is what it will look like As soon as you see that - head to the HCI with your passport. In NYC I walked it over in the morning, and picked it after lunch.
