Hi All
Just tried to sort out an e-Tourist visa but have had a couple of failures where (to paraphrase) the payment failed as the server failed to respond.
Has anyone had any problems with any particular browsers etc (Using Safari here) or is this likely to be a problem at the other end?
Thanks
D

When in doubt use Internet Explorer (despite any personal preference).

Angry

I have tried Firefox and Safari on a Mac and Firefox and IE on a PC.
Payment failed on all - as server could not be reached.
I have to start again.
Is this a common problem and is there a way to increase chances of success?

as mentioned in an earlier post on this topic - have you informed your bank/ card co. that you are going abroad? - you can probably do it online.
It seems that the payment processor they use appears to your bank/ card co. to be in India!

I was given the advice to open the payment link on your mobile over 3G/4G (make sure you disconnect from wifi).

After hours of trouble on Firefox and IE this worked first time! No idea why but it worked for me.

We could only get the payment to work using Chrome. And a credit card not a debit card. It's not your bank, it's the system.

Payment problems

Just when we thought applying for a visa would be simplified ..... Made two applications last night, haven't had any emails to say we have been successful but when I checked the status online they both said granted. I went on to apply for visas for my travelling companions and this is where the problems started. Several times during the application I got a message data not received so had to re input. When I tried to pay I also got this message. Tried different browsers to no avail. Maybe the problem is using the same IP address for four applications? If anyone has any solutions please let me know!
Thanks
Gokarna

Payment problems

I have tried using both Chrome and Firefox but neither worked. My credit card has been charged three times for these unsuccessful attempts. Will have to try again from my workplace hoping that using a different ISP does the trick.

Just checked the e visa status, it looks like I have paid three times for one of my friends as the application has been received and have not paid at all for my other friend as their details don't exist. The only emails I have had are three saying please pay now - I had to complete another application for one friend as I thought after trying to pay five times the application would be blocked. Still haven't had confirmation of mine and my husband's visa's even though they have been granted on the system. Think next time I will stick to the postal method.

Technical Issues for E Visa Payment

Just found out that there are problems with foreign cards at the moment. Will have to do the application again as it is now blocked after 5 payment attempts!

'Apologies for the inconvenience caused !! We have been facing some technical glitches with our Bank’s Payment Gateway and some international cards are not being read.
We would request you to kindly try making the payment after a few hours.

Make sure you delete the browser history and cookies before trying to make payment. Also try to change the browser if the problem persists.

In case you have already tried more than five times ,then you have to re do the entire application form once again as after trying five times the application gets locked permanently

For any further assistance call SBI technical support center at 1800221401 (Timings : 10.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on week-days and from 10.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. on Saturday)

And You can also send a mail for the " support.sbiepay@sbi.co.in "

I was getting worried that the evisa might mean the loss of the entertaining correspondence, not to mention the sqillions of posts, on the subject of Indian Visa requirements.

I was foolish to even think of it............this topic will run and run

It gets even better! Despite getting the pop up saying application blocked I have checked the status and it has been accepted so I must have paid after all.
