I want to take passport from one of the Chennai seva center.
Unfortunately i lost my 10th and 12th mark-sheet in an accident.

Process to get duplicate mark-sheet
I have booked the complaint in the local police station & they will give the certificate after 15 to 20 days. And using that i need to get the certificate from tashildar in my local place (Near Thirunelveli).
If i provide the certificate, then school HM will issue the marksheet after a month.

Totally this process will take more than 3 months. Because this process needs to be executed in my native. And i don't have Date of birth certificate too.

But i have College TC, Driving License & PAN Card original in my hand. So as a Date of bith proof, can i submit the College TC original?

If not, other than 10th and 12th mark-sheet, do i have any other ways? Thanks for your advise.

http://passport.gov.in/cpv/checklist.htm

N.B.: In the case of applicants born on or after 26.01.89, only Birth Certificate issued by the Municipal Authority or the Office of the Registrar of Births & Deaths is acceptable.

If you were born after 26.01.1989, then you must provide Birth Certificate. But, what I think is that a Sworn Affidavit can work too.

have you asked anyone in passport office? what they say?

They said SSLC or HSC marksheet is must for the date of birth proof. They didn't ask any date of birth certificate or affidavit.

Any one of following documents would work as proof of Date of Birth:

> Birth certificate issued by a Municipal Authority or district office of the Registrar of Births & Deaths;
> Date of birth certificate from the school last attended by the applicant or any other recognized educational institution;
> or an Affidavit sworn before a Magistrate/Notary stating date/place of birth as per the specimen in ANNEXURE ‘A’ of the Passport Form by illiterate or semi-illiterate applicants.

As you are an educated person, you would be required to wait for three months period (or whatever it takes) for a duplicate copy of certificate issued by the Board of examination which had conducted your last examination in the school.

Affidavit (sworn before a Magistrate/Notary) will not work in your case!

In that case, will my College TC work? That can be considered as proof for date of birth.

Yes i am going to get duplicate certificates. That is another process i have started already. But i don't want to wait for next 3 months to get the passport.

You might have received School Leaving certificate at the time of completing your school. If you have maintained a copy of the same with you, it could better work.

Otherwise you may submit the copy of graduation certificate if it carries Date of Birth along with a copy of PAN Card would better work.

Ideally, the school Headmaster could have issued the certificate much faster on the basis of lodged FIR.

Its not in the hands of HM. The delay is due to Police station and DEO office. Police needs to keep my info in gazette for 20 to 25 days. After that if they didn't receive anything from anybody then they will issue a certificate. Using that certificate, i need to go to local tashikdar. He will check all the documents & give me a another letter. I don't know what other documents, he wants to provide the confirmation letter.
Using that letter HM will start the process. This process may take around 15 to 20 days. So in this process, HM part is very less. The complexity here is, getting tashildar letter in my native place. Hope you understand my position.

Strange case!

Anyhow, you may try applying with two documents - one an attested copy of the certificate obtained after passing last exam passed in college (if it carries date of birth); another a copy of PAN card (as it carries date of birth).

Just now verified with Passport Call center executive. Last institution TC is enough for the Date of birth proof.

Thanks for your Answers and Reply.

The same thing I had mentioned in Post #7 "... you may submit the copy of graduation certificate if it carries Date of Birth along with a copy of PAN Card would better work" and Post #9

Best of Luck!
