I've looked at all the threads related to 10 year visas, and there is still one question unanswered: What is the process one has to go thru before returning? I know you have to leave after 6 months and that you can return after only a few days, but do you have to visit the Indian consulate or anything while you are away to get your passport stamped or some such? Or is it just a matter of returning and having it stamped upon re-arrival in India?

thanks,
kiki

It should just be a matter of collecting entry/exit stamps. Tourist visas are all multiple entry, which means you can come and go as much as you want within your alloted window. With the ten-year one, you just have the leave the country every six months.

I have traveled in and out of India multiple times on a six-month tourist visa. There was nothing more to do than come and go.
