Hi all,

Just needed some advice on the role of a passport agent in the actual process of passport renewal via the tatkal scheme.

My passport expires in three months and i have a planned travel in a month.I am looking to make my application next week. However, my case is slightly complicated, my current passport has my Delhi address and I am currently based in Bangalore (hence address proofs are bank statements and landline bills).

I have contacted an agent who is quoting Rs 3000 over and above the application fees of Rs 4000. The agent says he is well connected and that he will do the document verification, appointment scheduling and recieving documents (within 3 days). Am i being ripped off or is the fee reasonable?

please advice asap.

thanks in advance

There is no role of an agent in Passport renewal. You would be required to apply at Bangalore with all the required documents.

Ditch or Kick the agent. You do not need one. Passport renewal is easy. Apply with Bangalore address if in Bangalore for more than a year, if less with both address proofs. Normally you will have the passport in a week.
