Minors between 15 to 18 years of age can apply either for a 10-year validity passport or they can apply for a passport, which is valid till they attain the age of 18 years.

A 10-year validity passport cannot be issued to applicants without police verification on submission of parent's passport. If passport is required on an urgent basis, they can apply under Tatkaal scheme.

Address proof for Passport

Hello All,
Please go through my post and give me your valuable advice, So my situation goes like this. I have been in Bangalore since one and half years living with my sister and brother in law, they live in a rented apartment and the rental agreement is in their name. I have not been working during this time and was preparing for some exams.
Now I want to apply for my passport but my permanent address is of outside Karnataka and even my SBI bank account has the permanent address and not the current address. I have no proof whatsoever that I have been living in Bangalore since one year. In this case what should I do?? Should I go back to my permanent address and apply the passport from there or is there any way I can get my passport from Bangalore?? Please help me Thanks In Advance

If you intend to remain in Bangalore, you will have to take a declaration from your brother-in-law/sister (in whose name agreement exists) mentioning you stay there during the period.

You will have to submit address proof along with declaration stating you stay with them.

Unhappy Guidance on reissue PSK Ghaziabad

Hi Experts my first passport was issued by PSK Kolkata which will expire on Dec 2018. I have been staying in Noida since Dec 2013 at my in laws place. I want to go for reissue at PSK Ghaziabad and I have the following documents 1)Aadhaar card with Noida address( changed to Noida less than a year ago) 2) SBI account of Kolkata but with Noida address with transactions clearly showing all transactions in Noida for the past 4 years 3)unregistered but notarised rent agreement between my father in law ,myself and my wife 4)Airtel landline bills with present address 5)Verification Certifiate attesting to my current address. Will this be sufficient for re-issue? Do I need anything else like an affidavit from my father in law (PS he stays in Kolkata but owns the flat in Noida ) pleas help

The documents are okay and you won't require any other document, except rent agreement. You should get it registered.

If possible, you may get your address changed in bank account.

I have the got the address in my saving a/c in SBI kolkata changed to my current address in Noida. Trust this should be fine and they won't object saying that this account is not in a Noida based branch! It's core banking everywhere in India so long as the address is current and the transactions prove that I have been transacting in Noida it should be good enough right ?

Can I register the rent agreement now ? It was executed in September 2013 think there would be penalty etc. Can I simply avoid the rent agreement since it's from my father in law(landlord) and instead get a letter from him?

Thanks for your guidance

No need to get agreement registered. Even unregistered rent agreement is being accepted since 20th September 2017.

Please go through the list of acceptable documents as proof of address.

The updated bank statement would be okay.

Thanks a ton! Just noticed that serial no 11 now says 'rent agreement' in place of 'registered rent agreement'! This is a huge relief. Is there any link to a government publication like a gazette notification which I can carry if they stick to the old position.

For re-issue is verification certificate needed? I want to go for Tatkal and it appears that at PSK Ghaziabad it's a must for any kind of Tatkal. I am hoping to get a verification certificate for two reasons for Tatkal as well as current address.

A link to the document is provided in the "Note" Section of the page. You may take the print of PDF file, though it won't be required...

You should always fulfill local requirements. Now-a-days, normal passport also take around 15 days...
