Dear All
I applied for appearance change and removal of ECR in my passport on 9th April in my RPO. I was issued a new passport with a new passport number on post verification status. I thought post verification means now there is no need for any police verification and went to delhi for visa work. I got a call from police station regarding passport verification but could not turn up due to busy schedule. I had to leave for kuala lumur on 29th May due to join my class so I inquired my RPO people and they suggested me to go kuala lumpur and apply for a re-verification upon my return.
Now I am in Kuala Lumpur and I have to return to India in July month.
will immigration department impound my passport at the airport?
If I escape form immigration department and apply for a re-verification will they issue me a new passport with a new passport number?
Please reply me as early as possible

Impounding may happen depending on how serious the PV failure was. If not you may be allowed to keep the passport, but asked to immediately resolve the issue. Mostly the same passport will continue and no new passport will be issued.

unless the ministry of external affairs notifies the immigration folks, they will not know about this. And as it is a tatkaal passport, there is post verification. There might not be any problems for you coming in, as india cannot deny you entry. Come back, go to the same psk/rpo where your passport was issued, and find out what you can do to fix this. Maybe another police verification will be done.

Getting in fromt of the corrct person to plead your case might be the diffcult part, you do have all the other evidence to support your reasons for not being available for police checking.

Oh, its his home country, so he can't be refused entry. But, once in, at best he can be asked to go home without passport in hand and asked to report to RPO/Police asap, or worst arrested.

But generally, problems with passport applications don't yet fall into the category that can get you arrested on arrival, except if you are people like Monica Bedi and her ex-boyfriend (the gangster whose name i forget).

Dear Adam and Narendra...
Thank you for the information !!!
My local police station and the CID people have sent report saying the candidate was not available at
the time of verification and they had assured me if I apply for a re there will not be any problem.
Since I had already consulted my RPO so I really don't fear arrest or even seizure of my passport.
The only issue I see is change of my current passport as I have been given a year visa and in case
my current passport is cancelled so I assume my visa will be invalid.
Since my visa fee is huge and this time it has been paid by my university if cancelled next time I will have to bear
the cost and I really can't afford it.
Is Malaysian visa Transferable on new passport if yes what is the procedure?
If you need further information please ask me to provide.
Please help me accordingly

I do not think that you will get a new passport. You will just be asked to complete the verification asap.

Hi, I too have a similar question. I had applied for reissuance of expired passport under normal scheme. I got my passport delivered within10 days without police verification. After 15 days later a police officer shows up at my place and that I was about to leave for my native. so I thanked god and answered all his questions showed him the documents and he okied it. Then he gave me a printed receipt and asked me that I have to be present witin 7 days for Police verification at Police station. I told him about my situation and he said ok you may ask any member of your house to inform police station that you would be late. Ok now it was my cousins wedding for which I was travelling to my native place. So I couldn't do what he asked me to do. When I came back I removed time and went to my local police station to my utter dismay my application was sent back to Worli passport office and that I shall wait for their notification in order to go and meet the RPO and get my forms released. I checked with my agent who heard the story and told me if you have received the passport then it is not necessary to go and do police verification and now that the police had come to my house and met me personally and got my documents checked. I assured him I was staying at current address by birth then there shouldn't be any problem. In this situation I felt I should seek help and opinion over here. What should I do?

It would be better if you visit Worli RPO and ask about the status. They would be able to tell you what exactly has happened.

Unhappy I need urgent help..!!

My child is an infant, now his new passport was issued like half a month back. and I have already acquired his visa for UAE and they are to travel tomorrow. Now, just now it clicked my wife that the police verification has not come yet for mustafa's passport.

Now, my question is..? be it that we do police verification later or whatever.. but will they stop them from travelling tomorrow.. Please let me know is someone is aware about it.. Till now we havent recd any request from police to come with the documents for police verification etc. etc.

Immigration will allow them to board the flight or not.??

If the Police Verification has recently been done for the parents, it will not be required for the infants. You may contact the passport-issuing RPO for more clarifications/guidance.
Quote:
If either parent of the minor holds a valid passport with spouse name endorsed, passport will be issued to the minor without any police verification. Original passport of parent(s) should be presented for the verification of particulars. If parent(s) hold a valid passport, but spouse name is not endorsed, then they must get the spouse name added in their passport. For this, they have to apply for reissue of passport and get the specified change done in personal particulars. If either parent does not hold a valid passport, passport will be issued to the minor only after police verification or you can apply under Tatkaal scheme to get the passport on post police verification basis.

Question Post PV for reissue of passport

Hi,
I have applied for reissue of my passport which is due to expire in 2015 dec. I requested for address change & addition of spouse's name. I got the new passport on the 8th day. Now the police dept called my parents and asked for verification. Problem is i stay in Pune & my permanent address is in Odisha. I am already back to Pune. Now police guys are asking my presence there. I understand they make sense asking for my presence. However, I read in the passport seva website, which says physical presence before the police is advisable. One more thing my current address(new one) and old address are within the same police station limit.

I can't go back now as my busy schedule. Is there a way I can handle this. Any suggestion or help will be appreciated.

Regards,
Anup
