Passport and birth certificate issue

I have a slightly complicated problem.

I'm an Indian citizen living in France. My father has several first names, and all of them are written in his passport. My passport also has the same names as my father's name, but my birth certificate does not. It (issued in my city of birth in India) only has one of his first names.

I need both my passport and birth certificate for administrative purposes in France. Given the discrepancy in my father's name, they are refusing to accept the documents. They are asking for an official document to certify that these two versions of the name refer to the same person.

I understand that an Indian birth certificate can be corrected, but my current one has already been attested in the state and then apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs. It would not be possible for me to go through this long process from France.

Does anyone know of any other alternative?

Many thanks for your help.

You will have to check from which agency they want the clarification. Mostly the document may be issued by District Administration office.
