I will submit following documents for passport
  • Proof of DOB : boards certificate (10th & 12th certificate)
  • Proof of address : Telephone Bill & Bank Statement
  • 3 Documents which contain photo id : Voter ID , Pan Card , Driving Licence

    Additional Documents :
    Graduation & Post Graduation Certificates
    Affidavit

In my board certificate my father name : Vipin Kumar Sharma
In Voter ID & Pan Card my father name : Vipin Kumar
In Driving License my father name : Vipin Sharma

and i filled online form for passport and i wrote father name Vipin Sharma
and in affidavit i wrote father name vipin sharma

Please Answer following questions
1. All the above documents are well enough for applying for fresh passport ?
2. My father name is different in most of documents .. can that will cause problem for getting passport ?

Please Help me as soon as possible .. I booked appointment and i need to submit all those documents on 20th May 2013

You need a Birth Certficate if you were born after 26.01.1989. Only School certificates will not do. The rest of the docs are OK and enough. The difference in fathers name is OK and unlikely to cause any problem.

Good for you, @Rahuljain12. I hope your mental tensions about what documents to take are now put at ease, and you can start ansnwering other people's passport questions based on your latest knowledge.

Now, start visiting your favourite god's temple, and pray for a few minutes every day until you get your passport in your hands

Can you please help me out, because I'm the first person among my family who is applying for passport.

@priyashree: Please do not post the same query multiple times. Do you have a Birth Certificate where the name of the father is correct? The difference in name won't make a difference. Please go ahead without worrying.

Father's name issue

My problem is similler to that of Rahul Jain and Priyashree, my daughter's (SMRITHI GANESH) passport was declined because of difference in my name (father's name) between 10th CBSE mark sheet and Birth Certificate.

In the birth certificate it is'GANESAN R' where as in the 10th mark sheet it is 'GANESH R'. The mistake is however ours as we mistakenly declared the name so, for CBSE X exams .

All other documents are perfect.

only 10th mark sheet that too verified only for ECNR is faulty.

I am surprised by the above mentioned two cases where in similler problem has not been made in to a stumbling block.

I understand we can correct (It is a 'correction' I reckon) the name if endorsed by the school. But I am also told that it is very difficult get it through the school.

If some body has a suggestion. it would be of great help.

You should get a notarized affidavit declaring 'GANESAN R' and 'GANESH R' are the names of the same person and GANESAN R should be treated as correct.

Hopefully it should work in your case.
