@ skysurfer & aarosh,

Lovely photos. I haven't been there even once in all these years, though have directed many guests visiting Mumbai while I was working. It is a pity that I will miss it this year too, I will be visiting Churchgate only on 13th or 14th Feb and the festival ends on 12th .

@ Naveena and others - this time the festival has some AWESOME heritage walks where they will be taking groups to places that are usually out of bounds. The walk I woudl have loved to go to (no time sadly) is the one that starts form Horniman Circle - St Thomas Cathedral and end at the Jewish Synagogue with its focus being on stained glass treasures

trust me there are some unbelievable art treasures in the Mumbai colonial buildings! I will post the details tomorrow morning
Some of my ramblings!

I had been for this walk. It was amazing - we had a great guide (didn't catch her name) and I now know more about stained glass than anyone else on this forum
Here are my pictures from Kala Ghoda: https://picasaweb.google.com/frozenc...0207_KalaGhoda

There's a walk covering Irani cafes today, if anyone's interested.

Yes, Mumbai certainly does have some beautiful heritage buildings which are worth strolling through [where permitted] on ones own at any time.

Spent a short while at the Kala Ghoda festival on Sunday. It was much better organised this year with the whole of Rampart Row neatly turned into a pedestrian precinct.

Some of the live performances on offer were of high calibre but to be very honest, I found quite a few of the so called art installations rather weird, not my cup of tea. The most aesthetic view from Rampart Row that day was a glimpse of the museum.

I was not surprised to find Why This Kolaveri Di here too !!!

PS: Nice pics Niknik & ors.

Brilliant pics Nik! many thanks for sharing it cos I was going to miss it sadly since I was on my Himachal trip. This year's festival was the best by far with loads of very interesting events and the art was definitely top notch - spectacular creativity.

Thanks. Yes, this was my fourth year at the festival and this year's installations and performances were the best they've had.

The highlight for me were the two heritage walks I went on (because I was late for the movies I wanted to watch). The second walk, which covered the architectural styles seen in Mumbai took us from Eros theater to NCPA. Along the way, our helpful guides explained how this entire area was reclaimed in stages, with each stage having a unique architectural style. The "walk" concluded with a extended history session of the NCPA and a glimpse of Opera rehearsals at the Jamshed Bhabha theater.
