There is no need of getting confused.

People of Braj Bhumi celebrate Holi for over a week. Each major Krishna temple and village celebrates Holi on a different day. Hence you find it being celebrated on different days.

On the first day of Lath Mar Holi, gops (shepherds) from Nandgaon come to Barsana to play Holi with the gopis (shepherdesses) of Barsana.

The festival begins with a ceremony at the Radha Rani temple. After this ceremony gops then march out of the temple on the Rang Rangeeli Gali where they stop to play holi with the gopis, who stand in groups along the street.

The second day gops from Barsana go to Nandgaon to play holi with gopis at Nandgaon.

Please visit this page of the Daily Mail to see interesting photographs and a report on Lathmar Holi.

The first website says that us Barsana Holi is on the 26th of Feb in Barsana (What's that?) and Lathmaar Holi is on the 1st of March in Mathura. http://mathuravisit.com/mathura-fest...2014-2015.html
The second website says that Lathmaar Holi is is Barsana on the 28th of Feb and the 1st of March. http://www.hindu-blog.com/2011/02/la...stival-in.html
I'm inclined to beleive the second as lots of other places seem to talk about the famous Lathmaar Holi in Barsana, but this isn't something I want to mess the date up on.
Does anyone know which is right? Are they both right?
Thanks
Hi Globaltrailblaz,

I've got some friends from Mathura, and they confirmed that Lathmaar Holi in Barsana is on 27th Feb & in Nandgaon it is on 28th Feb. While on 1st Mar, Holi of Banke Bihari temple, Vrindavan will be the main attraction.

Regards

May be they add 1 extra day

Anyway each place is the same? But each year may be not the same?

Color is not much involved on third day (i.e., day after main Holi festival).

Holi is a Hindu festival which is governed by Hindu Calendar and is celebrated on Chaitra Krishnapaksha Prathama (First day of Chaitra masa). That is the reason of celebration on different days every year.
