I have been researching a lot on this topic and thought its be great to seek assistance from all you people here, please advice the best you all can!

I am residing in New Delhi (India) and my BF is in Charlotte, NC (USA). We have been together for 3 years. He is a divorcee and has all his documentation complete. We want to get married in India by Nov'13. Our relation is 3yrs long and we have enough proofs to authenticate the same.
Can someone advice us the best visa and correct way to get through the process. I have been to US on Tourist visa in 2012 and he has been to India on tourist as well.
For the marriage he wont be able to come for more then 2 weeks, we would like to return together after settling all formalities.
Can I get the depandant visa this fast? How many days does it take after registered marriage to get these formalities completed?

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me..have looked into ICICI Bank for a while now, I have used the bank before for their travel money and exchange rates as it's usually really competitive but I was just wondering if anyone here could provide me with some information from a non-bias point of view as I am looking to get the Indian Rupee Travel card, is it worth it? What are the main benefits?Online it says you can use the card at any ATM bank in India, but that you also get access to special offers and discounts whilst dining, travel and others. Has anyone used the card for these purposes? Are there any drawbacks?

Thanks again!!! :)

I am starting a new thread for this just cause the help I need is different.

1st off, let your answers be hinged on the fact that I am Goan so I have a fair understanding of places around Goa. And I well aware of the weather in June, places to stay etc.

What I need help is with driving directions.

So we are planning to go to Goa on June 7th, Friday night. A few of my friends and me are planning to drive down to Goa after work on a Friday night.

Yes I have warned them about how bad the weather can be right now and how dangerous the road is after Kolhapur, especially in the rains, AT NIGHT.

Now when I generally go to Goa, I prefer flying or taking the Volvo. In both cases, I don't need to know the road and don't care. But now I am entrusted with locating roads. I am still skeptical about the idea but I'd like to know if taking the road from Nippani, Kudal, Sawantwadi etc is a better road to take or drive up to Belgaum and then take a right from there. Personally I'd prefer the former but I'm open to ideas.

What I would need help with is since it's rainy nights, travel logs from members who've made this trip before. Also, essential information like detailed maps and places at night we can stop at if required for fuel or anything else since this will be an all night drive.

Also, till Kolhapur is not a problem. But after that, what is the road to take, pics etc. Wouldn't want to be lost in the dead of night.

Now I know a lot of you will deter me against this but this is atleast not on bikes. Silver lining and all that...

So, can someone help with text and visual maps and pics et all?

Just for anyone who wants to know, I have a place in Nerul where we will be staying at. I'll add to the thread "different things I did in Goa", pics with places close to my house that tourists don't generally go to.

Look forward to your help.

my friend and I (both female, 24) are planing to visit Tamil Nadu and Kerala at the end of August. As we don't have too much time, we were thinking about joining an organised tour to visit Munnar and the main attractions around it. Can anyone recommend us something? We are traveling on a low budget, so the costs shouldn't be too high.

In case you need this information:
We will go from Madurai to Munnar by bus and afterward to Cochin, also by bus.

Thank you in advance for any kind of help!!
Through other threads i have noted down the places to visit, need help with the following [puhlease]

1) Am coming with my wife & 2 yrs old kid. Is Sept 27th a right time to visit? i do not want to be in the midst of rain/bad weather considering it is the first time we travel towards northwest & we are from south india where we deal with 40 deg hot sun every day!

2) Please advise a hotel near mall for approx 3000rs a day. Also please suggest good taxis/cabs who can speak some english! :D

3)share your experience if you had traveled to Darjeeling with a 2 yrs old kid, it will help me to understand if a kid can handle the cold weather/precautions that i need to take other than a winter jacket for him.

From 'Amazon' I purchased a Kindle book, it's about Corbett National Park and its Tigers. Several times the authors writes about his crazy driver's speeding, I'm quoting:

"With his jeep he drove rally-like."
"He turned his jeep and raced back from where we had came from."
"For me it was not possible to sit in the jeep, I had to stand, otherwise I would have broken my vertebra".
"I constantly had to hold myself in order not to fall from the vehicle and I often feared I might lose my camera."
"I gave him the nickname Driver from Hell."
"He pressed down the accelerator pedal completely."
"He jerked the Skukuzi violently around."
"With 60 km/h he went through the dry riverbed."

I wonder is this normal??? I'm working as a guide and driver in South Africa's national parks. Here, on gravel roads the speed limit is 40 km/h, on tarred road 50 km/s. There are many speed traps and if you are caught you have to pay a heavy fine. Not long ago a delivery truck went into a herd of Impala antelopes, killing 21 animals! He was fined 3.000 Euro and banned from Kruger National Park for life.

When visiting Corbett I gonna insist on doing the driving myself. It will only be me and the guide (naturalist). He just has to tell me "go left, straight, right". I would drive slowly and when I want to stop for watching or taking photos it's entirely up to me.

What are your experiences with drivers?
