Booked a Car and went to Samsing-Suntalekhola 30 km from Maal Jn river the same day. A jungle walk , view of hills, clouds and at the end of walk of 45 minutes reached the river Suntalekhola.

Chalsa Pwd Bunglow, Samsing Tourist lodge and Sinclairs resort are three known places to stay in Samsing if anybody likes to.

Next day tried to enter GORUMARA. Gorumara allows a fixed no of tourists every day and we could not get tickets due to a foreign tourist rush . So went to Chapramari. found only some Bisons few birds and one green crested eagle. Then went to MURTI riverside.

I'm planning to spend some time in rural Bankura district in January 2010 but am becoming slightly concerned about disruption or violence due to Naxalite activities or the response to such activities by the authorities.

I'm reading the Telegraph online regularly, and also Tehelka.

Can anyone recommend any other reliable information sources that I can access online and which would help me come to an informed decision whether to go to Bankura district or not.

Thanks, Julia

Now one of my friends is a big fan of old temples and architecture and he came across this place called Bawali in Budge Budge where we need to go and take photographs and make a field report. What I am asking from u guys is details about this place with a little history if possible. He was telling me about this Mondal family that resided that who were kind of like royals and all.. so any info on that will be helpful too.
