"C" forms in Anjuna

A close friends "C" forms were taken to the new Police Station in Anjuna by a local in the last few days. They were refused because........

IT IS NOW A REQUIREMENT THAT A FULL LIST OF YOUR VALUABLES IS WRITTEN ON THE BACK, AND SIGNED!

You what?

Give a full list of your valuables to the notorious Goan Police force (proved time and time again) and the only remaining question is whether they will nick your stuff or sell lists to other criminals.

My friend had the good sense to just put a few basic items, not the contents of the house.

The inference given was no list and the "C" form would not be accepted, I also got the feeling that if items were not on the list, should you be robbed, they would not be entered on the Police report of the crime. For long-stay\expats this is less relevant as we have inadequate insurance cover, most of us, but for holiday-makers it is more of an issue.

ps
At present this is a new thing, and may be limited to the notorious Anjuna Police Station, any feed-back if it starts at the Calangute branch would be appreciated.

Looking for some advice here people! At long last my better half and I are heading to Goa to check it out for possible early retirement. Is there anybody out there living the good life who could tell us the ins and outs, good and bad of living in Goa(Would be willing to buy several beers). Need a recommendation for a decent place to stay for a couple of weeks too, with AC/ pool nearby and somewhere that could possibly temp us into heading over permenantly.
We are arriving in Delhi and we have to do the Taj but then want to head south to Goa, has anyone done it by train as we are uncertain whether to shell out for the plane or to have a bash at the trains. Are the sleeper cars safe enough?
So any Brits with a comfy apartment for rent for 10days-fortnight get in touch.

Direct question here..... How much in ŁUK will we need to rent somewhere reasonable and live comfortably.
Estimates Please..........

Hi folks,

Just under 4 weeks till we leave for India and trying to get some more info on Goa before we leave...

Myself and my girlfriend plan to be in Goa from around 28th Dec - 3rd Jan. I know it's going to be busy, but were looking for advice on:

Not so busy beaches (or at least not the busiest)
Mid priced places to stay (1500-2500 rps / realistic?)
Nice towns to visit (culture, not dayglo rave gear ;) )

I've been reading that the less busy places are the far north and the south, with most of the main resorts being Brit-tastic. How much truth is there in that??

Thanks in advance!

PS) Great site...

Hi, I'll be arriving in Agonda around the 28th Nov and plan to stay as long as 3 weeks. I've looked at the various websites and notice that prices seem to go up quite a bit in December, 1000 rupees plus.

I'm guessing there are cheaper places that aren't online.. Is it feasible to just turn up and find a nice shack for 700 rupees or thereabouts? It doesn't have to be right on the beach, but it should have some charm. Any suggestions?
