Royal Enfield Bullet Questions?

I have a Royal Enfield Bullet 500 Classic and have a few questions for you.

1, Can you recommend any good places to buy parts?

2, How much would it cost to get a new petrol tank (just the basic black with gold stripes)?

3, Does anyone know how many miles per gallon or kilometres per litre a Bullet 500 is supposed to get? Mine is the 2004 model and apparently it should get around 70 mpg. Is that correct?

4, How much would a Bullet 500 usually weigh?

5, What is the recommended tyre pressure given that I'll be using pretty bad, bumpy roads, not clean smooth ones?

Some of these might be hard to answer. Please ask if you need any more information.

Thanks :)

Hi all, it is a great forum here,:)
I read so much, but one thing is left open for me.
I'm planning to do Manali – Leh – Manali around mid June with a bike.
We are 4 guys, i.e. 4 enfileds 350cc.
I know there are plenty of options for renting good enfileds over Delhi, and as far as I read here it looks like a better idea to rent in Delhi rather then in Manali.
The problem is that we do not have the time and desire to ride Delhi – Manali, we are coming only for Manali to Leh trip.
We wish to go with a car and driver straight from Delhi to Manali, hang out there for 2-3 days and then go up to Leh and back, and again go back from Manali to Delhi with a normal car and driver, leaving the bikes over Manali.
What do you suggest ?
Is there a way to rent the bikes over Delhi and have them supplied over Manali and also leave them at Manali ?
Could you let me know some idea of costs, rental agencies etc…
Thank you very much.

Here is our itinerary. Baroda-Udaipur-Jaisalmer-Jodhpur.

We're renting a car from Baroda. First we'll go to Udaipur and after that we are planning to go Jaisalmer and then Jodhpur to catch a flight as Jaisalmer doesn't have airport.

Please advise how long does it take to reach Jaisalmer from Udaipur by car with Kms?

Hi there:

I am a Spanish motorcycle lover, at present I live and ride a 400 cc Honda in Beijing and some years ago I spent three years living in Hyderabad and riding from ther to Goa, Mumbai and Kerala.

Next december I will be going to India and touring Delhi to Rajasthan and then Delhi to Kajuraho on a Royal Enfield 500cc with my girlffriend, and I wanted to ask you fellow bikers if there any annoyances especially likely to happen on these roads. I would also welcome any suggestion to overcome them. Any particularly dangerous road spots (I mean like dacoits or sthg out of the common)?

All help welcome.

Thanks,

Hello

So when I was in Goa travelling we hired scotters (well who doesnt) and we drove for about 10 minutes, and theres a police check point... We were stopped, fine for no helmet, then they asked for our lisence... We showed our UK full drivers lisence, its for a car not a bike. Now I have done my CBT (Some years ago) but obviously this is a cert - and its not on my lisence. Now my question is I'm returning to India next year with a friend, we would both love to hire bikes but how do we do it legit or do you have any advice? Naturally I feel peed off after driving safely here, and driving safely here, but we were fined and had to bribe them thousands of ruppees just to let us drive for the day - was not impressed!
Thanks
