Can anybody please update me on the current situation in kedarnath as of today 18th june 2013.
My cousins(with small kids ) are staying in Agra house hotel in kedarnath when I last heard from them on sunday(16th june 2013) evening.
Can any body please provide me any contact information of the Agra house hotel in kedarnath.
Also is any body are currently in kedarnath who can advice me on the situation in the Agra house hotel. Also about food and water reserves in the area.
Do any body have any information of the road connectivity back from kedarnath.

I was wondering if I could have some help with planning an itinerary and an idea of timescales that would be good to spend in each place. I arrive in delhi on the morning of the 11th Aug and am leaving from delhi on the morning of the 31st.
During this time I am keen to see:
Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner and the mountains (particularly Palampur tea fields, and also Shimla and Dharamsala). I also would like to visit Varanasi. I know this seems a lot to fit in and so was wondering if anyone had any advice on which parts to possibly leave out! I think the definite ones for me are Bikaner, Dellhi, Agra, Varanasi, Udaipur and the mountains. Also if anyone had any advice on the best way to travel between locations (particularly for the mountain regions) that would be very much appreciated!

Planning my 5th trip to India and this is shaping up to be the best one yet!

In the year and a half that I've been home in the States, I've learned to ride a motorcycle and intend to make this next year + trip in India a motorcycle tour. I'm excited!

I've read through the forums and understand that Lalli Singh in Karol Bagh is a great man to go to when buying a bike. Lalli Singh is located in Delhi.

However, I'll be flying into Mumbai and heading south immediately from there. I wonder if there is a Lalli Singh equivalent somewhere in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai....etc.

I'd like to find someone willing to offer me a buy-back plan so that I can return the bike at the end of my trip.

Any leads?

I am a student of an Indian college in Tamil Nadu selected for a student exchange program at a university in Germany for a semester (4 months). The program is in English and starts in September 2013.

The thing is I just obtained my passport, and I just today emailed the German Consulate at Chennai to grant me a slot to validate my application for opening a blocked account of the Deutsche Bank.

I am yet to visit VFS and get dates for the visa interview, and I am planning to visit on July 1.

Here are my questions:

Is IELTS mandatory? Will they waive it, because they waived the requirement for my seniors last year who went for this program, and they did not write it.

Is there still time for me to go through this whole process, because I might have to board the flight by August 30 or so.

I am planning a trip to Shimla this august. I must admit that my itineary is quite rigid but would really help from your inputs and I might even change it. We start from Delhi to Shimla on the eve of August 8th.
We plan to stay at Shimla and Dharamsala/Mcleodganj from 9th August to 11th August.Unfortunately we need to be in Delhi on 12th, early morning preferable.
We expect to reach Agra on 12th afternoon. Fatehpur Sikri early next morning and then off to Amritsar around 13th August afternoon provided we are able to see the major attractions.
I already have tickets from Amritsar to Delhi foo 14th august night.
Please give your inputs as to how can I accomplish the trip from Agra-Amritsar. Is it possible???? Budget is not relaxed but not tight either.12th morning we have to be in Delhi.
