Wireless Access

I've noted that Internet access is fairly widespread and affordable in India these days via Internet or cyber cafes.

However, how easy is it to find *wireless* Internet access at places like coffee shops or economy hotels where one can connect to the Internet using one's own laptop?

The above option has the obvious advantages of having access to your files and your FTP software for updating Web sites, such as I need to do.

mind u access at some place might be metered, so plz. ask first as most places have WEP nowadays. If u come to know anything plz. update us.

Sit in Coimbatore Airport and surf all day long on their free WiFi!

Charging for WiFi access in commercial buildings (cafés, hotels, etc.) makes no business sense. The shrewd few that provide free WiFi as a service (as they do electric light or a lavatory) will surely benefit.
