Will Reliance phones be usable outside India

Hi All,
I have a Reliance Samsung N191 phone which is in prepaid right now. Can this phone be used in the US or elsewhere (where CDMA is available) ?.

Eh.. i think you won't be able to use reliance or tata WLL phones on any other network, you can't even use reliance phones on tata WLL connection, so in all probability these phones are pretty useless on other networks, then again there might be a hack or something, not sure though

Using Reliance phones in the US

Will 3G phones be usable in 2G networks ?. Many parts of the US use 3G but still 2G is common.

I know of people importing phones into India and unlocking them . Can a similair procedure be done to unlock these phones ?.

3G is BIG in Hong Kong at the moment and almost all 3G phones are incompatible. LG and Samsung are curently advertising 3G phones that are backward compatible but they are rather bulky. I am not sure about 3G being that popular in the US though.

Try this at your own risk:
There is a market in Delhi called Gaffar, north delhi, very congested- do not go by car. It is the heart of grey mobile phone industry in India.
I have heard there are guys out there who will take your CDMA phone, charge 1000-1500 bucks (or even less, who knows- I have not done this ) and convert your phone to a GSM triband open handset.
Now that is the innovation of Indian mind!!!
I heard this b'cos a friend of mine was carrying a GSM phone that strangely resembled the Nokia phone Reliance was selling for 501 rupees, he told me he got it off gaffar for 2000 rupees, and now it is a GSM phone- while earlier it was a CDMA phone.
