Vivitar Vivicam 3713 advice needed

Having sadly had to abandon all hope in getting photo's transferred from my motorola v220 I've decided I'll have to get a digital camera. This particular little camera says it has "video capture" and also says it comes with software anda USB cable (Geez - that will make 3 that I have!!) I believe that the quantity of pics it can store will be sufficient for me as I don't intend leaving them in the camera for long at all!

So that I don't make yet another mistake, can anyone tell me if, while it says on the spec that it's PC/MAC compatable - whether you think it'll work with my Compaq EvoN1015v laptop that has XP as it's OS. OR will I have to get yet more adapters/whatever.... see...how technically minded I'm getting since becoming an IMer!! - NOT)

I just can't afford yet another error of judgement and am probably going to get rid of the B****y motorola phone now as it won't let me do what I bought it for! So much for killing two birds with one stone eh?
