Use a sim I bought last year
I purchased a pre paid Vodafone sim last Nov 2010 in Kolkata. I did not use all the minutes before going back home.
I am returning to India for a month in Nov and wonder what my options for using this card are.
Can I just simply use it ???
Do I need to call Vodafone and have service restored for this number ???
Do I need to purchase a new sim ??

Check if the number is active by turning on the cell phone containing the SIM.

The number will remain active if:
The number has been used (as in call/SMS made/recieved) at least once in the last 90 days.
Minimum recharge of INR 200 in the last 6 months.
If not the number is recycled.

The SIM will be deactivated after 6 months of nonuse. With these prepaid cards, you need to buy a new SIM. They won't reactivate the same card I'm pretty sure.
