Free SMS to / From India

Hi
Anyone know of a way to send free sms from computer to a mobile in India?
And from a computer to a mobile overseas

I used to use 160by2.com and it was fantastic, but if you dont use it for a while they say that the password does not exist. They may or may not send a password to our mobile.

Any other suggestions would be helpful

Not heard of 160by2.com, but if you were happy with their free service, what is the reason you do not just start again with a new user name?

Thank you for your reply.
I tried creating another account, but we have to give our India mobile number in order for them to send us the password. So when i enter my two india sim card numbers the say it has already been taken/used. So i am unable to re-create another account.

At only Rs 99 for an Airtel Prepay SIM card, it might be cheaper to just buy a new SIM!

Thank you Haylo for your reply
To register a sim card is a long process you have to furnish sale deed photocopy or bank passbook copy and keep after the airtel rep to see if you have got a connection.
The sim card has to be activated as 160by2.com will send the password to that phone number. Moreover i think there may be other internet websites that provide free service. I already set two 160by2 a/c before i went to India and after 4 -5 months of usage it says password does not exist.
160by2 is good but it only works if the person has the cell phone on.
Also they include free advertising when sending the sms so one must be sure to put their name at the bottom of the text message - which i dont mind at all.
It served the purpose well during my stay there

Yes, I know it is slightly inconvenient, I have purchased several myself and was happy to see how cheap SMSs were. It would be useful to be able to have an alternative though.

Hopefully someone else will come up with another service.
