SMS From UK to BSNL Network?? HELP!
OK - I'm starting my own thread as I sort of hijacked Butterball's last one! (sorry!)
I want to be able to send SMS from the UK to a BSNL cell phone in India. Is there any way this is possible?? My own network (T-Mobile) don't do it. I went into a mobile phone shop to ask and according to them it wont work with ANY UK network!! Is this really the case?? It seems strange that there is absolutely no way to do it - particularly seeing as I can receive texts from BSNL. Can anyone help??? PLEASE!! And if it's not possible from a UK phone network, is there a way that it can be sent through internet?? |

Thanks Radz.
Argh! I'm so frustrated that this can't work. All the people I know in India use BSNL. They text me regularly and I can't reply! Soon they will get bored of me ignoring them! I'll check out the Yahoo Messenger thing but I think you need a particualr type of phone for that to work (which I'm pretty sure neither I nor they have!) |

mercedes10: To receive mobile messg from yahoo you dont need any special cell phone, any phone will do.Only thing yahoo has to tie up with the local network.
Ya BSNL is goverment one ,the charges are reasonable ,so i think most of the ppl has switched over to BSNL .Have u tried free sms site on net? |

Cheers Radz. I just tried Yahoo but they don't support BSNL either, nor do any of the free sms websites I've found. It looks like it is not destined to be! :-( But thanks for all your suggestions - and if anyone else has any other ideas I'd love to hear them

Thanks Shere. I had already found that site, and although it says the message sends I know they didn't arrive! Mind you, I just noticed that it says on the website that BSNL users have to be subscribed to UMS service for it to work (whatever that is!). Does anyone know what BSNL's UMS service is and whether it costs something?? Thanks!
