Reliance R-Connect card

I'm currently weighing up the various internet options in India for my 6 months there starting Feb 2005 (I introduced myself here)

Does anyone have any more information on the RConnect Data Card ? The coverage and price seem excellent - however it's only available as a 'Postpaid' connection. Can anyone shed any light on how feasible it is for a traveller of no fixed abode to get one of these? Would I need someone to help me out for billing purposes?

I'm currently playing online poker for a living in the UK. As much as I'd love to leave the laptop at home, I need to earn as I travel to pay my way. It would be incredibly liberating if I could get one of these cards for net access in pretty much every major town in India. I like to travel in an unplanned, ad hoc manner and this sort of flexibilty would make a dream trip possible.

Any help or advice is appreciated

edit: from their site it seems proof of ID and residence (an electricity bill for instance) is required to get a postpaid account. I would happily give someone the 6 months costs up front and several beers too if they were able to get a card for me

Reliance Card

you may be able to get the reliance phone as a pre-paid option. You can use the mobile phones the same way as the R-connect card, as long as you have an USB port free in your laptop.

thanks, that is probably exactly what I'll do. Namely because the Nokia phones are very cheap (around Rs 2000?) and the Aircard is Rs 14,000!
