Portable hard drives for photo storage

"Out of interest, what mobile hard drive do you take?"This question about storing photos was tucked into a thread about taking batteries on planes. It seemed best to answer that question here in a separate thread.

Here's our solution, I am sure others have others:

The two of us travel with 2 (and sometimes 3) JOBO portable mobile hard drives. We each carry one in our camera case. We generally travel for long periods and come home with about 60 GB of photos - about 14000 jpeg photos per trip. We have a 60 and an 80 GB GIGA Vu Extreme - I wish I had bought even larger capacity ones.

Look particularly at the JOBO GIGA Vu Extreme and, for less money and fewer features, the GIGA One. (I find this little one only useful as additional backup. Its features are annoying and not as workable for us: you cannot delete photo files without connecting to a computer, the copy button is too close to the other buttons and sometimes you hit it accidentally, copying photos for a second time and without a computer not being able to delete them and having them taking up precious space)

The JOBO GIGA Vu's are easy enough to use - you pop in a flash card (it has a slot for compact flash, for other formats you can get an adapter - the Giga One, the little one, takes 6 different card types without an adapter) You hit copy and your card is copied onto the HD. (before using it the first time, you set your preferences for speed of copy and if or how you want it to verify files after copying etc )

GIGA Vu's have many other features for photographers described on the website.
