sheesh.
close your eyes and head for the apple store.
never 'settle' for second best

a 2GB shuffle = approx INR 4k+
a 120GB nano = approx INR 14k+ [this can double as your external hard disk as well]
its a one time buy - go pluck that apple

For short trips to gym / market - an ipod shuffle 1/2gb should be fine. Though i wish a radio integrated in it (you need to buy an attchment)

For long trips, if you want video - ipod / zune 120gb. I am so confused over all this myself - so i got nothing now

I had a transcend 1gb mp3 with a small screen + played radio too, really tough ..this was quite sometime back.

IMO Ipod is a pain in the A$$ considering that the transfer of music requires some or the other software for it ( read Ituner/Flooa etc ). The ipods are also expensive than the rest..well most of them. However with the players like creative stone and Transcend etc, just copy paste the songs and you are good to go. The quailty of sound some of these players churn out are the same if not better. Ipods do noy have inbuilt radio, some of the other players have it along with record from radio. To each their own, i personlly will never put my money on an ipod.

sure - you may prefer a smirnoff over absolut or absolut over grey goose
creative sound is good - but an apple a day keeps all my pains in my a** at bay

I can only recommend ipod actually as it's an very good MP3 Player, if you change to other headphone than comes with it. Headphone that come with is ok but i don't like it and bas is not enough. Bas and sounds is fantastic since i change it. To an Razor inear headphone.

Dont rate the Ipod myself. Itunes is a horrible program and like the Mac you pay for the design. Sound quality is no better than cheap mp3 players and the headphones are cheaap tat.

You mean like the imitation D&G,Salvatore Ferragamo,Versace,Missoni in the side streets of Venezia or Roma for 20EUR ? Why pay 30 times more for a an original designer.

Seriously, I have evaluated all kinds of knockoffs from Zune downwards.... Not even close - No cigar !!! You are welcome to keep using your cheap mp3 player on a DELL/HP/Ferrari running Vista-Lite-Home-Edition-Without-EUrestrictions-Certified Virus-Proof by microsoft.
