Mobile in Poland...

I cannot find the answer by searching forums on IM... so here goes:

My UAE-purchased mobile works in India, but does anyone know if it will work in Poland, or will I need to purchase a new mobile there. This particular Nokia 2600 does not work in Canada/USA.

Thanks..

Hi,
I bought a mobile in India and it worked fine when I was in Europe (I am from the Czech Republic, Poland is next door i guess its the same) so I think if your mobile works here it should be fine in Europe too.. with the USA/Canada there is different something something.. (sorry not an phone-person) I also had to buy a mobile there when I was in Canada few years ago.

Hi.

It should work fine. It's old model now but still classic and used to be quite popular here in Poland. USA and Canada GSM network is a little different (ferquencies) so it could cause the problems.

India uses standard gsm phones - same as Europe, Australia, NZ etc. The USA and Canada use frequencies peculiar to those two countries.

900 MHz & 1800 MHz these are the GSM frequencies used in Poland. Prepaid sim cards can be bought at most newstands for as little as 2.5$
