Macbook Pro / Reliance network card
Hi
Does anyone know if the reliance network card will work withlast years Macbook Pro laptop. Or does anyone have any other suggestions for good internet access in Bandra,Mumbai. I am currently having a TATA landline installed in my flat but I have a feeling its going to take some time (ie. months). Tim. |

Well it transpires this card will not work. Next step - is it possible to get an expresscard from any of the companies in Mumbai?

This might not be the solution to your problem. But what I've been using since I got here last week is a cheedtah usb cable which connects to my reliance cell phone. (I have an LG) With this cable you can connect to the internet. Sure it comes with proprietary software, but that isn't needed with a mac. Set your modem as a usb one (which one im not sure) and set it to dial #777 your phone number as login and pass and to your phone number. Works like a charm for me.
The speed aint great - but its a solution. Also try googling the "reliance mac"thing. I found some useful hacks that way. |

Go for Sify broadband thru cable or wireless modem. They have convenient plans including unlimited downloads from 10 pm to 8 am.

Sify doesn't have much of a good name with my techie friends over at www.vinuthomas.com --- look at other possibilities first!
