I purchased a Nokia 2760 , with bluetooth and it worked well, once I got it set up, that took a bit of time from Airtel, but Yes Good

Hey there fsg,

Rather, i'm trying to find out what kind of handphone i'll need to connect the laptop to the Airtel internet plan. For example, besides bluetooth, what other kind of features should there be? Thanks!

Similar Problem while connecting to internet on MAC OSX via Nokia 6300 Idea Prepaid

Hi all,

I have been finding ways to connect to internet on MAC OSX in India and so far havent got lucky. I have tried all the steps mentioned in the first thread with the only difference that I am using Idea prepaid connection (as compared to airtel in thread 1) and I am using NOKIA 6300 (as compared to Nokia N 9X in thread 1).

I did copy the scripts from http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ (NOKIA GPRS Bundle) and tried using almost all the scripts available in the ZIP file.
I checked the Idea website and the customer care reps for the APN(which is 'internet') and the DNS (which is '10.4.42.15') and the username and passowrd left blank.

Tried several times with all the combination of scripts and settings in the PPP and TCP tab's however still no luck.
Every time got the following error:
"Could not open the communication device"

The bluetooth is functional on both the cell phone and the MAC, I have surfed the web on the NOKIA(It works fine) Its just that I am missing the Script's to come into action.

Am I missing anything in the steps?
Anybody else using IDEA and have it working?

Please suggest/guide.
